REGENERATION 001: the visual EP

BITTERSWEET

BITTERSWEET shows the beauty of young people and is a celebration of life. A poetic, fast-paced impression of day-to-day moments in youth culture.

CINEMATOGRAPHY / LIGHTING

Deep intense closeups of faces. Slow motion shots of people  standing in context of  their surroundings. The colors will have a natural feel; sunsets, a blue bright sky. The color palette will mostly consist of pastel blue and pastel orange.

SCENERY

Neighborhoods, schoolyards, playgrounds, parks, bedrooms.

MUSIC / AUDIO

BITTERSWEET will be featured by a fast-paced, energetic hiphop track. Also there will definitely be a structure between the rhythms of the beat and the editing.

MEANING / SYMBOLISM

The beauty and diversity of young people.

STRANGER IN PARADISE

STRANGER IN PARADISE is a celebration of the night and visualizes freedom of movement and expression through the perspective of a group of dancers. These dancers use their improvised choreography to express their emotions to the viewer. They express themselves through various surroundings at night and inside a light-installation with beamers.

CINEMATOGRAPHY / LIGHTING

This video contains a lot of camera movement; clean, steady shots  that shows the movements of the dancers in their surroundings. Also reverse shots and slow-motion. The lightning in this video has an artificial touch and is based on modern, Japanese aesthetics: Neon, billboards, beamers, lanterns etc.

MUSIC / AUDIO

STRANGER IN PARADISE will be featured by a rhythmic section of electronic structures and synths.

SCENERY

Streetculture, Blackbox with beamers, empty nightclub, elevators, train-station, empty metro, inside of Asian supermarket, light-installation De School

MEANING / SYMBOLISM

MOONLIGHT

MOONLIGHT tells the story of 4 young men who belong to the new generation of Dutch young adults with a migration-background. It features a spoken-word and a short poetic visual scene. This video shows the curiousity and openness that this generation posseses to find out their heritage and where they came from.

CINEMATOGRAPHY / LIGHTING

The way of filming is somehow documentary based for this video. It's an objective view. We're using a lot of natural light and colors.
